Authenticity
Just as a diet of candy does little to nothing to improve your health, so a reader’s cheap diet of other writer’s opinions does little to improve your creative output. Opinions can be valuable, of course, when earned through the crucible of real-world personal experience. For example, If I have never piloted an airplane I can croon all day long about the joys of flying but how valuable is that, really, when compared to the experience of a world traveler just back from a successful landing and takeoff from a remote dirt strip in Fiji? There is no comparison, right? In this time of lockdown and a miserable death by coronavirus there is more demand that writers display an authentic voice and deliver to audiences a true narrative that reflects lessons learned from real experience, not some fakery made up crap. I will do my best to follow this – my own – advice! – Stay safe everyone – Marshall Thompson
